HomeThe BMAAbout Us Quality Assurance and Environmental Protection Policy It is the policy of the Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) to establish and maintain high standards in all aspects of the operation of the Bahamas Shipping Register. This applies equally to the services provided for the ship operators, seafarers and to compliance with provisions of International Conventions. Quality is an integral part of the BMA business conception and operating philosophy. The organisation has implemented Quality Assurance and Environmental Protection System which meets requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. The BMA is committed to quality assurance, and prevention of pollution and ensures that adequate financial and human resources and support are made available for all identified and documented business processes. The system is used to eliminate or control identified risks through preventive measures and to enhance identified benefits through systematic risk/benefit analysis. The organisation will strive to ensure service quality and protection of the environment by optimising its operations and continually seeking venues for improvements.
