The Bahamas at IMO Council 114th Session Category BMA News Date Posted 30 June 2015 Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn HE Eldred Bethel, High Commissioner and Permanent Representative of The Bahamas to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), headed The Bahamas’ Delegation to the 114th Session of the IMO Council from 29 to 3 July 2015. The Bahamas was one of forty IMO Member States on the Council that were tasked with appointing the next Secretary-General of the IMO during its Session today. After five rounds of voting Mr. Ki-tack Lim from the Republic of Korea, was appointed as Secretary-General elect having beaten five illustrious candidates from The Philippines, Russia, Kenya, Cyprus and Denmark.
