Postponement of Bahamas Maritime Week Category BMA News Date Posted 16 March 2020 Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Dear All it is with deep regret that we announce that Bahamas Maritime Week, scheduled to take place in The Bahamas with a series of events on March 23-27, has been postponed due to the global impact of COVID-19. We had been so looking forward to celebrating, with our dear industry friends and with the Government and People of The Bahamas, the 25th Anniversary of The Bahamas Maritime Authority and other important maritime milestones for our registry and our Nation. But in light of the rapidly evolving risks, and following expert advice, we must postpone Maritime Week and prioritize the health and well being of our visitors and partners, organisers and staff. The safety of all is paramount. We regret the great difficulties caused as The Bahamas and the world community confront this unprecedented challenge. We will reschedule Maritime Week and announce new dates as soon as circumstances permit. There has never been a more critical time for The Bahamas and the maritime community to come together to demonstrate their resilience in the face of adversity. We pledge our support to our friends and colleagues, and we express our solidarity with all those most affected.
