International Day of the Seafarer

The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) joins the International Maritime Organisation and the global shipping community on The International Day of the Seafarer to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contribution by seafarers day after day to keep the people of the world fed, warm and housed.  The seafarers’ role in the protection of the marine environment through adherence with the international requirements on the ships that they are sailing.   Shipping is supportive of the global effort to reduce climate change and seafarers are a critical part of the solution to protect the marine environment.   #OceansWorthProtecting
