Further visits to Korea and Japan consolidate BMA links in the region Category BMA News Date Posted 06 March 2024 Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn BMA Managing Director and CEO, Captain Dwain Hutchinson, was accompanied by Asia Regional Director, Captain Jahangir Hussain, in a series of high-level BMA meetings in Korea and Japan from the 20th to 29th February, 2024. In Korea, the members of the delegation also included senior managers from The Ben Line, The BMA’s agents in Korea. The delegation visited both Seoul and Busan, two important shipping hubs in Korea, to meet major shipowners and ship management companies, as well as the Korean Register and leading stakeholders of the local shipping industry. In Japan, members of the delegation also included Japan Director, Hitoshi Matsumoto, Registrar, Juanita Butler and Senior Secretary, Chie Funada. The delegation met Class NK, major existing and potential clients, and other important stakeholders from the Japanese shipping industry. The BMA was very pleased to have the opportunity to meet with key representatives of the maritime industry in Korea and Japan. The meetings were highly successful and will contribute to The BMA’s objective of strengthening mutually beneficial relationships with two of the leading ship owning countries in Asia.
