BMA meets with USCG Miami MSO personnel

USCG and The BMA reaffirms commitment on exchanging information between ports.

The BMA CEO Commodore Rolle and BMA Deputy Director Hutchinson met with Captain Austin Gould (Sector Commander) and Cmdr Todd Howard (Chief, Prevention Department) of the United Coast Guard Sector Miami on 16 March 2015.  The close proximity of The Bahamas to the USA and the maritime traffic between The Bahamas and Miami necessitates the need for continued close relationship and dialogue on shipping matters.  Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to exchanging information to ensure that ships operating between ports within the Miami Sector and The Bahamas are in compliance with international standards.
