BMA Celebrates Release of Galaxy Leader Crew

The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) is honoured to join the international maritime community in welcoming the release of the crew of the Galaxy Leader, who had been held in captivity since November 19, 2023.

Their freedom is a testament to the tireless efforts of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the unwavering support of the global maritime industry.

We extend our heartfelt wishes to the crew and their families as they prepare to reunite after enduring this prolonged and distressing ordeal.  The Bahamas, along with other international maritime stakeholders, has been steadfast in advocating for their release and we commend the collective commitment of all who contributed to achieving this outcome.
