The summit provided a valuable platform for networking and collaborative dialogue on sustainable growth and innovation within the cruise industry. As the sector advances toward decarbonization, discussions highlighted the shared strategic goal of a sustainable cruise industry, with a particular focus on environmental innovation and net-zero ambitions by 2030. During the event, The Bahamas received recognition for its support of CLIA’s efforts to review the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) factor at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), underscoring the nation’s commitment to progress. The BMA values its partnerships with Bahamian-flagged passenger shipowners who continue to lead the way with eco-friendly newbuilds and showcasing industry dedication to sustainable development.
