Bahamas records it’s lowest number of annual port state detentions Category BMA News Date Posted 31 January 2019 Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) has recorded its lowest ever number of annual detentions following port state control (PSC) inspections with only 24 ships being detained in 2018. This achievement demonstrates The Bahamas commitment to being a quality flag state and the BMA wishes to thank our Shipowners, Managers and their shipboard crew for ensuring that Bahamas registered ships comply with the international convention requirements and avoid delays following Port state inspections. Coupled with securing US Coast Guard QUALSHIP 21, The Bahamas retains its status as a non-targeted (low risk) flag within the Paris and Tokyo MOU.
