Greenslade QPM and The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA), Acting Managing Director/CEO Captain Dwain Hutchinson presented The Bahamas’ annual Member State assessment payment to His Excellency Kitack Lim, Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). In accepting the contribution, Secretary General Lim thanked The Bahamas for its continued support of the IMO and he further recognised The Bahamas active and positive engagement during the IMO meetings noting that this ensured the achievement of the Organisation’s mission of safe, secure, environmentally sound, efficient and sustainable shipping through co-operation. The Bahamas’ IMO annual Member State assessment contribution of over US$1.3M placed The Bahamas as the 7th largest financial contributor of the IMO’s total assessment for its 174 member States and 3 Associate Members.
