Bahamas Ambassador to Japan is welcomed in The BMA’s Tokyo office Category BMA News Date Posted 06 October 2023 Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn The Bahamas Maritime Authority was pleased to welcome in Tokyo the newly appointed Bahamian Ambassador to Japan, H E Cedric Alexander Scott. He was greeted by the BMA’s Japan Director, Hitoshi Matsumoto (pictured 2nd right), himself a new appointee of the Authority. The meeting, which was one of Mr Matsumoto’s first responsibilities in his new role, took place at The BMA’s Japan office. The Ambassador (pictured 2nd left) was joined by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy Director, Ms Keva L Bain (left), The BMA’s Japan Registrar, Juanita Butler (center) and Japan Secretary Chie Funada (far right). The BMA has been strengthening its global representation including in Asia firstly through its agreement with South Korean maritime and logistics agency, Ben Line, and more recently with the appointment of Mr Matsumoto who will be working closely with Asia Regional Director, Captain Jahangir Hussain. BMA Managing Director and CEO, Captain Dwain Hutchinson, said: “We are looking forward to cooperating closely with Ambassador Scott as we continue our expansion into the Asia region. We are pleased that one of his first engagements on taking office was a courtesy visit to The BMA, underscoring the importance of the maritime sector to The Bahamas.”
